VSA (Volatile Substances Abuse / Solvents)
1998-2001
Tooting Gas was first produced in 1998. Although a relatively small numbers of users were involved, VSA/‘solvents’ were one of the major causes of deaths in young people under the age of 15.
A couple of years later I did some research in a children’s home and produced another solvents leaflet with a group of young women. ‘Polishing your Nails’.
In 2011, I produced a booklet on VSA that was aimed at parents. The booklet was written by John Verity and Simon Monks and is still available.
