The Big Blue Book of Drugs (2012)

The second version of the ‘Big Blue Book of Drugs’ was a complete re-write and re-design. The book was extensively researched. For instance one sentence is used for a small caption under a cartoon on the history page, “Every society that has ever existed is thought to have used drugs – apart from one...”. Ancient *Eskimo’s had no written language, so I spent a week looking at evidence from early European explorers and the Viking sagas trying to check this line.

Dr Russell Newcombe and myself wrote the text. I edited the book and did all the illustrations and designs. This book is currently available from Exchange Supplies.

The drug illustrations from the book were used in the BBC TV Horizon programme, ‘Is alcohol Worse than Ecstasy’ in which I appeared.
